PIBC Inc. Experience and Expertise
Telecommunications
For over 20 years PIBC Inc. has been active in HFC (Hybrid Fiber-Coax network) design for outside cable plant. Over the years PIBC has completed 550/625/750/860/1000/1200 MHz 2-way design for Rogers Cable and Shaw Cable in a number of regions, including: Metro Vancouver, Greater Victoria and Nanaimo, Northern BC, Alberta, and Ontario. In addition, we have designed 860 MHz 2-way HFC design with IP telephony for the Bellingham, Seattle (Carnation, Redmond, Skyway, and Kirkland) areas for TCI, AT& T Broadband and Comcast. PIBC is involved in a wide range of HFC projects, including designs for small cell installations and power supply relocations due to BC Hydro’s pole renewal program.
PIBC has created its own design program for HFC design. In addition, we have used SpatialNet and Lode Data design assistant in the past. For drafting, PIBC uses AutoCAD and MicroStation, depending on client preference.
In addition to HFC design, PIBC is experienced in pure Fiber plant design. We have completed a number of FTTP designs for large buildings and residential complexes in BC. We have also completed other types of Fiber projects, such as Fiber backbone extension, cell tower feeds, design for commercial customers, provision of diverse fiber routes, and etc.
Due to our extensive experience working in telecommunication design for the Greater Vancouver area, we have learned the civil design standards for each municipality and are able to optimize designs to maximize the probability of civil permit approval. Also, we have experience in dealing with third party regulatory processes for Telus (P408/P408A) and BC Hydro.
Since 2019, PIBC been working as a ‘Turnkey’ contractor, providing the full range of services from design to build. We have been able to offer this service due to our strong partnerships with several civil and telecommunications plant construction contractors in BC.

CAD conversion
PIBC has built up a reputation in providing quality professional services in the field of CAD conversion. We have extensive experience with projects requiring conversion of Imperial manual hard copy drawings into digital DWG format.
We have a strong CAD capability that has grown in experience over the past years. This experience has resulted in reliable, accurate, cost effective, and high quality CAD conversion services with the specialization in Civil (plan and profiles, access roads, site plans, general arrangements, sections, contour maps, legal plans, municipal permits, ) Electrical (schematics, single line diagrams, wiring drawings , control and telecommunications circuitry) disciplines.
PIBC Inc. had successfully completed a four year (2010-2013) Sewer Drawings DIGITAL CONVERSION PROJECT for Metro Vancouver, had fully demonstrated its competency and had won a bid for an additional contract of four year’s period (2014-2017) with an option to extend for a further two one-year extensions.
